Join us under the stars in the Museum of the Everglades’ parking lot to enjoy a screening of the classic film Wind Across the Everglades. Filmed on location in Everglades City back in 1957, this historic melodrama stars Christopher Plummer in his first ever leading role as a game warden battling plume hunters in the 10,000 Islands during the latter part of the 19th century. Also featured are folk-singer Burl Ives as the villain “Cottonmouth” and legendary local gladesman Totch Brown as swamp bard “One Note.” Museum Manager Thomas Lockyear will introduce the screening with some little known facts about the film and some scenes of note to watch for. Popcorn and other refreshments will be served by Friends of Museum of the Everglades to complete the perfect movie night. Don’t forget to bring your own chairs!
