Huey Howard & Family

February 15 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Huey Howard & his family are well known pillars of the Immokalee community and have been for over 50 years. Together he and his late wife, Dorcas, along with some of his children built a successful cattle company while working as the labor manager for local farms and a teacher in Immokalee schools. Throughout her over 50-year career, Mrs. Howard would eventually rise to the position of Principal within Collier County Schools. Today, the Howard family continues their legacy as one of the few African American cattle ranchers in south Florida. Join Mr. Howard, some of his children, and members of his extended family as they discuss the difficulties and triumphs of building a cattle ranch from the ground up and the Howard family legacy.
