Museum of the Everglades Manager Thomas Lockyear will discuss county founder Barron Gift Collier’s lifelong involvement with public safety and law enforcement. Appointed Special Deputy Commissioner in charge of New York City’s Public Safety Bureau, Collier would expand this role to include the formation of an international police force and the introduction of painted centerlines on streets and highways.
