Movies at the Museum: Follow that Dream
March 11 @ 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Enjoy the classic film Follow that Dream outside, under the stars on the museum’s lawn. Although Elvis Presley starred in three movies set in Florida, this 1962 film is the only one he actually filmed here. The story follows the Kwimper family who end up homesteading along a Florida highway when they run out of gas. They try to hold on to their new home while fighting off disgruntled politicians and greedy casino operators. The platinum record soundtrack included the songs “Follow that Dream,” “Angel,” “What a Wonderful Life,” and “I’m not the Marrying Kind.” All attendees are asked to provide their own chairs for this outdoor event.
