Third Thursday Lectures • Bank of Everglades: An Investment in Local History
June 17 @ 2:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
This talk explores the storied history of the bank building as well as some of the folklore surrounding it. The neo-classical structure has stood strong near the center of Everglades City for almost 100 years but has recently fallen into disrepair and decay. The question is, can it be saved? If so, what steps can be taken? The presentation will include a discussion of efforts currently underway to preserve the building by the local historical society as well as the role Museum of the Everglades might play in the community’s future and what those in attendance can do to help if they so desire.
Seating is limited so that we are able to practice social distancing. Masks are encouraged. To attend the lecture in person, please use the RSVP form below to secure your space.
