Wind Across the Everglades – Special Screening

January 27, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

wind across the everglades

Join us for a special outdoor screening of the 1958 Budd Schulberg feature "Wind Across the Everglades," filmed in Everglades City and Chokoloskee.

This special screening will feature an introduction by KC Schulberg, nephew of Director Budd Schulberg and son of Producer Stuart Schulberg.

About the plot: Set in the early 20th century, the film follows a game warden (Christopher Plummer) who arrives in Florida in the hopes of enforcing conservation laws. He soon finds himself pitted against Cottonmouth (Burl Ives), the leader of a fierce group of bird poachers. The film was loosely based upon the life and death of Guy Bradley, an early game warden who in 1905 was shot and killed by plume hunters in the Everglades. (source)

Bring your own chair to enjoy the film for free, or reserve a chair for a $10 donation by calling (239) 695-0008.
