The Naples Depot Museum is pleased to present “Transportation in the Digital Age” by the local Naples Digital Photography Club (DPI-SIG). “Transportation in the Digital Age” will be on display from Wednesday, May 3, to Monday, July 31, at the Naples Depot Museum, 1051 5th Ave. S., Naples, Florida 34102. An opening reception, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Collier County Museums, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, and is open to the public.
“Transportation in the Digital Age” features several works depicting transportation from around the world, including lively and colorful renditions of trains, automobiles, planes and other modes of transportation.
The Naples Digital Photography Club was formed in 2004 and meets monthly. They offer 20-plus distinct membership opportunities, workshops, tips and group discussions that help one learn and develop digital camera, image enhancement and exhibition skills by participating in friendly, collaborative groups of fellow photo enthusiasts.
Set in Naples’ first passenger train station, the restored Naples Depot Museum takes visitors back to Florida’s railroading heydays of the Roaring Twenties and tells how technology and transportation helped Naples grow from a village of 300 souls to today’s glittering Gulf Coast resort.
