Jazz on the Lawn
February 26 | 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
The Friends of the Collier County Museums present an afternoon of jazz featuring Trombone Great, Wycliffe Gordon – a 15-time winner of the Jazz Journalists Association Trombonist of the Year Award. His recent awards include the “Louie Award,” the International Trombone Award, and the Satchmo Award, among others. He is a prolific recording artist and is extremely popular for his unmatched signature sound, plunger technique, and unique vocals. He can be heard on hundreds of recordings, soundtracks, and documentaries, and has an extensive catalog of original compositions that span the various timbres of jazz and chamber music. His arrangement of the theme song to NPR’s “All Things Considered” is heard daily across the globe.
Proceeds from this inaugural fundraising event will directly support the Black History Baggage Car at the Naples Depot Museum — the first dedicated space to tell the Black history story in Collier County.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and relax on the Great Lawn of the beautiful Paradise Coast Sports Complex. Enjoy an afternoon of exceptional entertainment while supporting a great cause. Food and beverages will be available for sale. No coolers, please. Limited VIP seating is available with premium viewing, buffet, and a separate cash bar.
